Kia ora,
Today I have two questions about your life story, memoir or family history, for you.
Firstly – what do you think you could realistically achieve in 90 days? This needs to be something you feel confident that you could do in three months. And your goal needs to be very clear and specific.
A few weekends ago I met with 11 Write Your Memoir course students at gorgeous Kotinga Hall here in Golden Bay and this was something I asked them.
It helps to have clear, specific goals with deadlines when you’re tackling big projects like writing your life story, memoir or family history.
If you can break your story down into chunks, it suddenly feels less overwhelming. And if you can work through one ‘chunk’ at a time, you will eventually finish all your ‘chunks’!
Secondly, what time of the day or week do you think you could schedule in to work on your story? Maybe you’re a morning person like me? Or a night owl like one of my students Heather. It’s all about what works best for you.
So tell me – what do you think you could do by next season? And when would you do it? Or if you already have a goal, how’s it going?
Email me and let me know 🙂
Keep writing, one word at a time,
Charlotte x
PS if you’d like to join students in either Tākaka or Wellington in spring 2023 (well it’s spring here in New Zealand) to work on your story within a safe, kind group setting, check out my course Write Your Memoir. You can complete it 100% online, independently, without any contact too, but I’m also now offering these complementary face-to-face group meetings to support you on your journey. There’s something about working in a group that can help you get there easier.
