Kia ora writer!
How is your story coming along this week?
Today I want to encourage you to follow at least a rough plan as you write. It might be as simple as arranging your story by decades, or by significant life stages such as your childhood, career, adventures and family years.
If you start a document with a rough plan, you can plug in ideas as they come to mind, and when the time is right you can write more in-depth about each subject.
Try to stick to the subject of each chapter or heading, rather than allowing yourself to go off on a tangent that has nothing to do with your subject. And of course you can add more subjects as you think of them.
I hope this helps you today.
The most important thing is that you keep going, keep chipping away at this until it’s done, no matter how long it takes.
What’s one thing you’re aiming to get done by next week? Email me and tell me, I’d love to hear about it.

PS I’m planning on visiting Wellington at the end of October, to launch my Write Your Memoir course there. Tell your friends!
