I’m sitting at my kitchen table, here in Tākaka, Golden Bay, pondering a trip across the Cook Straight in November to visit New Zealand’s capital.
I’m keen to help more people around Aotearoa/New Zealand get cracking writing their memoirs, life stories and family histories!
So I’m coming to Wellington/Pōneke to teach a free, 90 minute workshop called ‘Beginner’s Guide to Writing Your Memoir’ (and sing some songs in Tītahi Bay).

Who am I?
I’ve been a professional writer for 20 + years, including writing thousands of articles (as a journalist) and blogs over the years. To date I’ve also written, edited, or produced 17 stories (some of which were turned into hard copy books), with more in the pipeline.
Last year I packed all my knowledge about writing books into my online course Write Your Memoir and made it available for a fraction of the price that it costs to have someone write your story for you (you won’t get much change from $10,000).
On my course you can learn the skills needed to write your story, plus learn a few new online writing tools too, and you can do it all from the comfort of your home, with a supportive community around you.
