Kia ora,
How’s life today?
In my world, the peaches have mostly fallen off our trees, the cabbages have been harvested and I’m wearing merino wool in the mornings.
This week I want to remind you: if you like to write, you’re a writer.
And I have this new idea – would you like to share a short snippet of your writing with our memoir writing community? When I say ‘short snippet’ I mean – 100 – 200 words, less than one page. I’m looking for a snapshot of your memoir, in the hope that it might inspire others to keep writing.
I think it would be really special to share some of your stories with others, because I know for a fact you hold some great stories.
So! Just for fun, if you go to the effort of emailing me your story, with permission to share it, and I do share it, I’ll put you in the draw to win a free place on my full memoir course Write Your Memoir. I’ll do the draw at the end of autumn.
Now back to your writerlyness. If you write, if you have some words that you want to share – then you are, officially, a writer. As someone once said to me when I was a very little girl sharing my dream of being a writer one day: the more you write, the better you’ll get.
So keep writing your story, because the world needs it.

PS if you’d like some coaching and some company on your memoir writing journey, join my course Write Your Memoir this Easter Weekend and I’ll throw in a one page feedback report by yours truly, about how your story made me feel, plus any basic grammar issues I can see, on the first three chapters of your story.
