Kia Ora,
How’s your memoir coming along this week? Whatever stage you’re at with it, just keep going.
Last week my 16 year old son Kāhu headed off on an adventure to the West Coast of the South Island with his dad to sit his restricted licence test. The nerves were high. For my boy, and by association his dad. There were tears during the test, and they weren’t from my son! Ha ha!
But they returned triumphantly with one restricted licence. And I felt so proud of my boy for sticking with something, even though it was scary. It wouldn’t have mattered to me if he’d passed or failed (well, not as much as you’d think), I was proud of him for sticking with it, even though it was uncomfortable.
And so I wanted to invite you to write about something you did that was hard, or scary, but you stuck with it because it felt right for you, and would lead to a very cool outcome.
I’m all for including feelings in your memoir, because we need to know who you are, not just what you did.
I wrote about this subject at the beginning of the year in this blog:
Write about your brave moments.
Write on,
