The value of 30 minutes

Kia ora,

Wishing you a fabulous start to 2025!

Here we are at the first chapter of the year again 😉 So now’s a good time to ask you: Can you spare 30 minutes a few days a week to write your memoir?

Think about it, the average person can write nearly 400 words in 30 minutes. That’s more than one page. If you wrote for three days, for 30 days, that’s 12000 words. That equates to around 40 pages of your future book.

If you did this for six months, that’s a 240 page book. Not a bad size for a memoir.

All you need to do is commit to writing for half an hour, three days a week.

No, it won’t be perfect. Yes, you’ll miss some days. But if you locked into this routine, forgave yourself for those imperfect days (and sentences), and returned again and again to your story, think how far you could come in six months, let alone a year.

The choice is yours.

To those who are writing, would you like to share 100 words from your story that relate to the theme ‘beginnings’? I’d love to share them with readers of this newsletter. Just reply to this email and send them my way.

Remember, your story matters,
