What were you good at, as a child?

Kia ora dear memoir writer,

How are you? Are you feeling inspired to write your memoir? Or perhaps you’re feeling stuck? Or you’re not sure where to start? These are all common feelings for people writing their memoirs.

Today I have a question for you, which I randomly dug out of a list of 100 questions in my Write Your Memoir course.

I invite you to include your answer in your story, and to those who are feeling brave, I invite you to send me your answer, along with a photo of yourself at that age, so I can share your answer with our memoir writer community.

The question is: When you were a child, what were you naturally good at?

Wanna know what I was good at as a child? You’ll never guess! I was good at writing, ha ha! I loved sinking into my imagination and writing stories of fictional people going through experiences I could clearly see and feel. I still do.

So what was it for you? Did you like running away to have grand adventures? Did you like playing with dolls? Did you like building huts? I’m also interested to know if you still do this today in some way?

Do me a favour and write something about this today or tomorrow.

Why? Because your story matters.
